"I started wearing glasses in the 1970's when it wasn't cool. I hated wearing glasses, I have a small nose and they were always slipping down. I wanted contacts but my mother said she wouldn't pay for them. When I turned 19 and was on my own, I bought my first pair of contacts. I would wear my glasses only in the evening. The contacts were inconvenient. Taking them out, cleaning them, traveling with them. It was a hassle. I love to go camping and it is a pain with contacts. Imagine you have one water jug to last the weekend and you are trying to be clean while taking out the contacts. I always felt like I had to carry an extra diaper bag around for all my contacts accessories when we would take a trip. One time I forgot my case and had to use two plastic cups."
