Patricia Goodnow Testimonial

"We had just moved to Kenosha from Louisiana when I decided to check into getting the LASIK surgery. A friend recommended Dr. Singh; he has a good reputation in this community. As I said, I wanted to have the surgery and with a family I just felt it would be so much more convenient without my contacts. I like to swim and that is hard to do with contacts. I always worried about losing a contact or having it fold over while I was driving."

"I made the decision to have the surgery but as it got closer, I started to get nervous. What if something goes wrong; we are talking about my eyes. My husband and I talked and we decided it was the right time. I really believed that everything would be okay. The benefits would outweigh any risk."

"I had my surgery in Milwaukee; my husband drove me there. I think I was at the hospital a total of one hour. They put some drops in my eyes to make them numb and then they held my eyelids open with a device. Dr. Singh told me to look at the red light and don't blink. I remember trying so hard to be still. When he made the first incision, I could feel a slight stinging sensation like someone had poked me in the eye. When he started to use the laser, there was an odd odor but it didn't hurt. He did the second eye and then I was done. I went into the next room to see the eye chart. When I looked, it was cloudy but I could see. It was amazing. Dr. Singh said my vision was 20/20. My husband was able to watch the procedure from the next room. He was really interested in the whole process."

"They put clear eye shields in place to protect them, and I went home and slept. The next morning everything was so clear. I considered myself so lucky. My life went back to normal the next day. I was told beforehand about possible side effects. I never experienced the starbursts but I did see the halos around bright lights at night for probably a week. I worried about rubbing my eye at first but those concerns have gone away."

"I am so glad I had the surgery. It bothered me to wear contacts; I probably didn't keep them up like I should. It is just so much more convenient. I had the surgery in July of 1999 and every once in a while I'll go to pick up my glasses in the morning or think about pushing my glasses on my nose."

"I see better now than I did with my contacts and I still appreciate it almost three years later. I think about how I can see street signs at a distance while I'm driving or how I can see the clock when I wake up in the middle of the night. I would recommend the surgery and Dr. Singh to anyone. He never promised me 20/20 vision. He didn't give me any unrealistic expectations. I really appreciated his honesty. But I ended up getting perfect vision and I am so pleased. My vision is clear and wonderful."
